Azealia Banks has been quieter than usual over the last year — mainly because she had her Twitter account suspended for going on a racist attack against Zayn Malik, but also because it appears she’s been in the studio working on her new album Business & Pleasure, as well as the sequel to 2012’s Fantasea. Today the Harlem rapper returns with this new single, “Chi Chi,” which finds her spitting fire over a sparse, sinister beat.
Azealia Banks has been teasing the release of a new song. “Chi Chi,” as she revealed the name to be, was described as the musician’s return to classic hip-hop bar-for-bar rapping, and was slated to debut on her Cheapy XO merch site where the Harlem-born spitter has been selling her signature soaps (named after her popular companion tracks “Miss Camaraderie” and “Miss Amor”) and other beauty products.
